Our Apiary
We started our beekeeping adventures in the spring of 2011. Our package of bees from BeeWeaver Apiaries (Texas) arrived healthy and took immediately to the top bar hive that we had built. We chose BeeWeaver for our first hive of bees because BeeWeaver Queens are a hybrid of All Star, Buckfast, and BeeSMaRt colonies. In 1995, they began selecting for mite resistance, high honey production, and healthy populations in all of their queen lines. They have been chemical free and mite resistant since 2001. These were all very important factors to us in our efforts towards natural beekeeping in our top bar hives.
