Welcome to Tukswitt Farm. We are a small, 18 acre farm located in the heart of beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania. We raise Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats, Pearl Guinea Fowl, and Heritage Chickens - Buckeye, Delaware, and White Chantecler. We also produce our own maple syrup, maintain top bar bee hives, and grow heirloom fruits and vegetables. We are trying to be as self-sustaining as possible on our own land.
Our Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats are all registered with the American Goat Society (AGS). Our goats have been bred from good bloodlines and can be used for milking, show, and as companions/pets. In May 2012, our entire herd was tested for Brucella Abortus, Caprine Arthritis-Encephalitis (CAE), Caseous Lymphadenitis (CL), and Johne's Disease. All results were Negative. Our does are milked daily to provide our family with milk. We also make cheese, kefir, yogurt, ice cream, and goat milk soap with the milk.
Our Pearl Guinea Fowl and Heritage Chickens are all free range, pastured birds. They are fed non-medicated, hormone free feeds and supplement their diets with natural vegetation and insects. They are housed only at night to prevent loss from predation. Our Heritage Chickens are large fowl, dual purpose birds that we use for both meat and eggs, while the Guinea Fowl are used for pest control and do an excellent job of keeping the tick population down.
